Karl Trabert
Desk lamp, executed by BAG Turgi, Turgi, Switzerland
Designed around 1933
Top reflector and lampstand made from chrome-plated metal, lamp arm from black laquered wood, new wire.
The model is a variant of the well-known Karl Trabert desk lamp, produced in 1933 by Schanzenbach & Co in Frankfurt / Main. This elegant variant manufactured by BAG Turgi was still popular in 1960 and shown in the Swiss Werkbund catalogue „Wohnen heute 3“, no. 42 007. Its design stands for the aesthetic of modernism and Bauhaus. Fiell attribute this variant to Trabert and highlight his regular interaction with the modern avantgarde.
