Apropos Design

"Tonangebend: Starke Frauen und ihre Kunst 1918 - 1945" Works by Martha Katzer in the exhibition at Keramikmuseum Staufen

Whether at the Bauhaus, the Wiener Werkstätte, the Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin or the Staatliche Majolika-Manufaktur Karlsruhe, women have played increasingly important or even leading roles in ceramic workshops since the Art Nouveau period. These include famous female artists such as Eva Zeisel, Margarete Heymann-Loebenstein, Marguerite Friedlaender and Hedwig Bollhagen. Also, lesser-known personalities such as Martha Katzer are honoured in this exhibition about ten talented female ceramicists.

The exhibition runs until 30th November 2023 and after the winter break again from 1st February 2024 to 30th November 2024.
